Keeping the backyard safe for all 😉
We found one of the few covered bridges in Texas on the way to Girl Scout Camp the other day so on the way home I stopped with the girls..they did not think it was cool as I did but they’ll get over it 😉
I’ve been practicing using Back Button Focusing with my camera for the past 2 weeks. Fuzzball laid in the sun (so unusual for her-NOT lol!) and I practiced a bit for the first time.
I actually shot my very first non-family family session using this technique because I was paranoid about missing focus!! Youngest came with me to the family shoot (she’s my reflector helper) a bit before with me so I could try it out (and change it back if I couldn’t figure it out!) Luckily I’ve been able to work with it and am pretty happy with the results 🙂
Youngest always finds ways to keep herself entertained while I work out what I need to do lol 😀
Youngest went to her very first sleepover Girl Scout camp..she told me not to come along because she wanted to try it all by herself this time…I could MAYBE come with the next time they went camping 😀
Oldest is NOT a camper and she had an all day ballet marathon practice again so she was out regardless but she made the trek with me to pick Youngest up 🙂
The Campout theme was “Diva Party” so there was fire, food, makeup, hairspray, games, sugar (lots of it), and these things called “SWAPS“…I had never heard of them, thank goodness for Google and Pintrest, saved me again! Youngest made 62 “Camp hairdryers” which were a big hit apparently 🙂 She came home with a lot of “instant campgrounds” (dirt in a bag saying just add worms) and candy…
She loved it!
Guess who is getting ready for the Nutcracker? Yep, Oldest is in this timeless classic this year, she is a “Spanish Chocolate” this year. This week at practice I snuck in with my camera to catch a few quick shots of her before class started. I tried to get some shots through the window but the zebra is tricky so I snuck to the studio door……when Oldest realized what I was doing I got a “Really mom, really?” 🙂
“On Halloween Night when the ghosts come out, they all get together and they start to shout! Boo, Boo, we love to scare you, that’s what ghosts are supposed to do!”
This month’s project 12 theme is “Dress up” ..perfect for Halloween!
Youngest was a “Nerd” this year and got herself all dolled up for a Halloween party while Oldest did the scary makeup for two neighboorhood friends (she was in heaven..she loves doing stage make up..I think it turned out really well!) then she rushed to get into her Baseball Vampire costume, the fangs are finicky..her costume was inspired by one of her fav Vampires, Rosalie Cullen. The pup was in charge of Supervision while I made Cowboy Spaghetti for dinner, I make the girls eat real food before they leave! Fun Night!
Trick or Treat!
Thanks for stopping by! Make your way through the circle of talented photogs to see how they view this month’s theme of Dress up 🙂
